No midsummer without games! Here we’ve put together five simple games that are suitable for both children and adults! Put on the midsummer wreath, and enjoy these fun games for young and old alike.

1. Reverse hide-and-seek

What you need: Nothing!
How to play: Contrary to ordinary hide-and-seek, in this version only one person hides while everyone else counts. The one who finds the hiding person then hides in the same place. Continue until there’s only one person left who has to find everyone else!

2. The sack race

What you need: At least two sacks of any kind, as well as a starting point and a finishing line.
How to play: Everyone starts at the word “go” and jumps all the way to the finishing line!

3. Collect items against the clock

What you need: Pieces of paper with list of items (one piece of paper per team) and one judge.
How to play: Each team is allocated an area. Make sure there’s at least one person per team who can read quickly. Each team gets a piece of paper with a list of different items to collect. For example “Something Red” or “A Toy”. In X minutes, the team should collect as many items on their list as possible. When the time is up, the judge has to go through all the items and decide which team has collected the most.

4. Bull’s eye bucket

What you need: Small items to throw (such as balls or shoes), as well as buckets of different sizes.
How to play: Line up the buckets and throw the items into them from a distance. The smaller the bucket, the more points per item that made it in.

5. Whistle with a mouth full of biscuits

What you need: A pack of dry biscuits.
How to play: Munch on 3–4 biscuits and try to whistle. Whoever whistles first wins. NB: Please bear in mind any allergies when playing games that involve food.
