Time for a wonderful trip to the beach? Make sure that you’ve got everything you need to keep your child safe in the sun. Here we've collected all the tips you need for a fun day in the sun!

If your child wears UV garments, a sun hat/UV cap and a pair of sunglasses, they will be well-protected in the sunshine. Remember to always apply sunscreen to any exposed skin!

On cloudier days or if your child won’t be spending much time outdoors, ordinary swimwear and a sun hat/cap will provide adequate protection. Avoid spending too long in the sun during the hottest hours of the day between 11am and 3pm. If the sun is very hot, one great tip is to put up a large parasol for your child to play under. It’s a good idea to keep a lightweight, long-sleeved T-shirt handy in case your child needs some extra protection.
