To ensure that UV garments retain their high level of sun protection, they need to be looked after. Luckily, that’s easy!
It’s important that you always rinse the garment thoroughly in cold water after use to remove any salt, chlorine or sand. Also stretch the garment well. This helps to retain its look, colour and sun protection level.
Also, never store a wet garment in a towel, as this will damage the fabric and reduce the UV protection.
How to wash UV clothing:
- Turn the garment inside out.
- Follow the washing instructions.
- Use a bleach-free laundry detergent.
- Let the garment hang dry in the shade or indoors. UV garments should not be dried in the sun or a tumble dryer.
