Our team tests wool garments for grown-ups
Read article
Sometimes the members of our creative team find themselves in fairly adventurous situations when they’re on location. A photo shoot in the far north of Sweden was one such occasion, and naturally they needed to be as warmly dressed as the children modelling our clothes. So they decided this would be a golden opportunity to test our new wool garments for grown-ups. Let’s find out what happened – did they declare wool a winner? And did they take any pictures?
The assignment
The team was travelling up to Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, for a photo shoot for our warmest collection yet – PO.P ON ADVENTURE – a range of garments for the chilliest winter fun and games. Their trip took place in very early spring and because photo shoots tend to involve long days and they’d also be outdoors, the team needed to dress warmly. Luckily, we’d just received the first of our wool garments for grown-ups, and there were enough for the whole team!
“We want the photo shoots for our collections to be as realistic as possible. If the clothes are designed for winter adventures, then we need to photograph them outdoors in snow. And so it’s important that everyone in the team dresses accordingly...”/Ami

The magic wool
Wool is truly a super material. It feels soft and comfy against your skin, offers good breathability, helps regulate your body temperature and effectively wicks away moisture from your body. This enables wool to keep you warm even when it gets damp, making it perfect to wear next to your body however active (or inactive) you are. What’s more, it’s antibacterial, so you don’t need to wash it as often.
“I’ve always secretly envied my kids’ comfy wool thermals, and now that I’ve spent several days wearing wool myself, I have to say that envy was justified – there’s such a difference between wearing wool garments as Layer 1 and 2 and wearing cotton or polyester.” /Karin

Our wool garments for grown-ups
Our collection of wool clothes for grown-ups consists of lightweight tops and leggings that work perfectly as Layer 1 – the soft and comfy layer next to the body – as well as a hoodie and leggings in thick wool terry that offer good insulation as Layer 2 under the protective outer layer.
Due to popular demand, we decided to start producing our soft wool clothes for adults as well. Obviously, we want adults to have the same opportunity to dress cleverly and comfortably in the cold – outdoor play and adventures are much more fun when your clothes keep you pleasantly warm!

The team’s verdict
Enough about the details – let’s get back to the team on location in Kiruna. What was their verdict? Did wool win the day? And what was the best thing about their adventure up north?
Let’s hear what Karin has to say. She’s one of our graphic designers who also takes photos of material for behind the scenes and video clips:
Wool is really fantastic!
Karin
“Wool is really fantastic! We were outdoors from early morning to late afternoon in changing weather – both heavy rain and bright sunshine. We had warm outerwear, which was a necessity during our long snow scooter rides. But when the sun came out while we were playing in the snow with the children, we sometimes got a bit too warm. On those occasions, it was nice not to feel any dampness against your skin.”
So far, so good. So what did Ami, our Art Director, think?
"I tend to feel the cold, so I wore both the lightweight Layer 1 wool and the thicker wool terry as Layer 2. Wonderfully comfy and clever, in my opinion! After all, I knew I’d need to cope with chilly snow scooter rides, fun and games in the snow with the kids, standing around and moments dressed just in wool garments inside our tent. I have to say that I felt very satisfied with my choice.”
Hooray! So both the team and the wool passed the test with flying colours. Here you can see more about exactly what they were wearing.
Fleece jacket for grown-ups – & winter version
You may also have caught a glimpse of our best-selling fleece jacket. A versatile multi-season jacket that’s both windproof and showerproof. It’s clever and convenient to slip on as a protective Layer 3 in changeable spring and autumn weather, or on a cool summer’s day. Yet another firm favourite with children that many adults have been asking us for.
In our PO.P ON ADVENTURE collection, you’ll find a hybrid jacket in the same style as our fleece jacket, but with sherpa fleece lining on the front and back for added warmth – perfect for Layer 2 on really cold and long days outdoors, or Layer 3 during milder weather. What’s not to love?
